Mail Boxes Etc. - Centre Mbe 0001

I would not advice for this Mail Boxes. Communication via email was very poor. I was given answers just in order to pay more. The service itself was very poor as well. One of the items was very poorly wrapped and arrived damaged. Finally, I did not find people to be very kind. They seemed almost annoyed. Finally, if it is possible to find another Mail Boxes, I would go for the other one.

Although I very very rarely write reviews, my experience at this store was so terrible that I feel compelled, especially as I previously had a great experience with another Mailboxes Etc in Paris (apparently they are all unrelated). Like many expats, I had a box to mail to America that I was hoping to have arrive prior to my arrival in NY this week. First, there is only one person allowed into the store at a time, understandable perhaps with covid but in that case you would think the staff would wear the masks properly and also waiting outside in the cold for 20 minutes holding a ton of stuff to send was unpleasant. Once inside, I explained that I needed the items bubble-wrapped and sent and I was quoted 300 euro for my box - approximately 3x the cost I was expecting and had paid in the past. There was also signage in the store showing the prices, but the clerk explained that this pricing no longer applied. Although I tried reasoning with this clerk and considered going across town to the store where I had gotten a much lower price previously, instead I decided to just pay to have it done. I was told it was then too late in the day to pack these items (nobody did anything for the hour they made me wait "filling out forms"). I also pointed out a mistake in my address that I was assured would be corrected. One week later and over 20 attempts to call the store with no answer, I did not have a tracking number in my email as promised. I finally went back out to the store (40 minutes away) to speak to them and they told me that they had been very busy with packages so they had not had a chance to send mine, despite the fact that it was already 7 days after they had promised. At this point I was extremely frustrated with the entirely apathetic staff, who offered no discount, a mild and seemingly fake apology, and had very little explanation or interest in the entire situation. I'll admit to raising my voice, but this was not 300 euro service, that's for sure. I left the store still without a tracking number, but I did get one that evening as promised. On the morning of the date when the package arrived, I received an $80 customs bill, which has never happened previously. When the package finally arrived at my building in NY the address had NOT been corrected (but I had gotten an email notice that it was 'delivered'), so I ran around my 1700 apartment complex on all different floors trying to figure out where they might have left it. As it turned out, I eventually found the UPS driver in another building and he let me know that they had reloaded the package in the truck as could not deliver given that the address did not exist. Luckily I was able to show ID and the driver was nice enough to help me move the large package and deliver to my apartment. For over $400 and multiple 40 minute trips to the store to send some breakable items from Paris to NY I do not think this could have been a worse experience. DO NOT USE THIS STORE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
